GENERAL INFORMATION - PATIENT CARE TECHNICIAN

Overview

The 911PROGRAMS Patient Care Technician program provides complete training in three specialties: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Phlebotomy, and EKG Technician. Upon completion of this program the graduate will receive certification as a CNA, Phlebotomist, and EKG Technician - collectively, a Patient Care Technician. For specific information about each aspect of these modules, please see the relevant pages on our website that describe each specialty. Students must take the followng modules to complete this program:

The General Medical Studies portion must be completed first. After that, the student may complete the rest of the modules in any order or, if preferred, simultaneously. Once all the modules are completed (and the student passes the relevant NHA exams), the student will receive three certificates from the program (CNA, Phlebotomy, EKG Technician) and two from the NHA (Phlebotomy, EKG Technician).

TUITION INFORMATION

  • TUITION: $4600
  • Tuition includes books, lab fees, and externship support
  • Application fee: $50
  • Uniform: Students must purchase a uniform for class (approximate cost $35); students may purchase more than one uniform if desired
  • NHA testing fee (due at end of course): Approximately $105 (payable to the National HealthCareer Association) each for Phlebotomy and EKG Technician; CNA licensing and testing  fees to the RI Department of Health may also be required
  • Payment forms accepted: cash, check, money orders, credit card, and paypal
  • 911Programs is an eligible training provider for the RI Department of Labor and Training (if you are receiving unemployment benefits, you may be eligible to take this course using funds from the DLT); if this is the case, please notify your Network RI counselor to get approval
  • NOTE: Currently Licensed or Certified Medical Professionals (i.e. EMTs, CNAs, RNs) can test out of the  "General Medical Studies" portion. Test fee is $50. If the  applicant passes the test, he/she can opt to skip the General Medical Studies portion (reduces tuition by $1200). If the applicant fails the test, he/she must take the entire General Medical Studies module; in this case the $50 test fee will be applied toward the tuition. CNAs are not required to repeat the CNA portion
